Appreciation AwardsThe American Legion of Oakland honored both Indian Hills Senior, Debra Myhren and Indian Hills Choir Director, Susan Heerema at its annual Holiday Dinner Party on Friday, Dec. 15 at the Legion Post. Ms. Heerema was recognized for all her interest and professional support of the Legion over fifteen years sending vocalists from Indian Hills to sing for patriotic events held at Veterans Park.  Debra Myhren is recognized for her four years of dedication singing those solo performances for the Oakland parades.  Ms. Heerema was also recognized for coordinating our Oakland Veterans to sing with the Indian Hills Choir last Spring 2023, the Battle Hymn of the Republic.
